FESTIVAL OF SCARECROWS
Saturday, October 8 from 10am - 2pm

Looking for something creative and fun to do? 

 

Create your own scarecrow and enter our annual scarecrow contest in Olde Town Arvada.   Your creativity will be appreciated by all who come to judge them on October 9.  Businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to enter. Entries must be received by October 6, 2021 to be on the map. The contest is sponsored by Historic Olde Town Arvada Association.

 

The entry fee is $20 for businesses and $10 for individuals and non-profit organizations.  The top three winners will receive bragging rights and a gift card.

Dos & Don’ts

  • Festival of Scarecrows is a family-friendly show and reserves the right not to display an entry that is deemed offensive, controversial, inappropriate, religious, political, or poorly constructed and may remove entries based on guest complaints or damage.

  • No materials may be placed on the ground under or around your scarecrow or block the sidewalk. 

  • Your scarecrow must be sturdy in order to qualify for displaying and judging. During the time that your entry is on display, you may make any necessary repairs to keep your scarecrow looking its very best.

    TIPS

  • A strong idea is key. Sometimes the best entries are the simplest, yet most recognizable.

  • Craftsmanship can make or break the overall look of a project.

  • Stuff your straw into pantyhose to keep it in one place!
